Former Cabinet Minister Maina Wanjigi tortured and robbed

Former cabinet minister and businessman Maina Wanjigi and his wife were attacked at their home in Karen's Rhino Park on Friday night and are nursing bodily harm when armed thugs numbering four tortured them using electric iron. The couple were forced into the bedroom where Mr Wanjigi was burnt on the hip while his wife Wambui Wanjigi was burnt on her back.

The thugs were dressed in security uniform identical to the one of the security firm guarding their property. They gained entry through the kitchen door, which had been left open at the time of the attack estimated to be 9.30pm.
